I tried the dinner in the Sky Dubai

I booked Dinner in the Sky just to try something different. I’d seen the photos floating around social media people having steak while hanging above Dubai Marina and figured, why not do it once?

I picked the sunset slot at 5:30 p.m. Check-in was smooth. You wait around in a small lounge while they prep the setup. Once it was our turn, they strapped us in tight and did a quick safety check. The moment the platform started rising, it hit me this isn’t just a dinner with a view. You’re actually being lifted into the air by a crane. No walls, no floor under your feet, just straps, metal, and open sky.

The view was incredible. You could see the Marina, the edge of the Palm, and as the sun started to set, the whole city looked golden. I didn’t touch my phone for most of the time. It felt nice to just sit there, look around, and take it all in without distractions.

I ordered grilled salmon. The food was fine nothing mind-blowing but decent enough considering they’re serving it 50 meters in the air. It was warm, tasty, and honestly, I didn’t care much about the meal at that point. The staff were great. They cracked a few jokes, helped people take photos, and kept the energy light. I noticed a few people were nervous at first, but after a few minutes in the air, everyone relaxed.

The whole experience lasted about an hour. It felt just right. Not too long, not too short. I wouldn’t call it a must-do for everyone, but if you’re looking for something unique to tick off your Dubai list, it’s worth it. It’s not just about the food or the view it’s the fact that for a full hour, you're doing something completely out of the ordinary.
